Sprouting Sustainability

Sprouting Sustainability
Every second Saturday brings something special to the Main Campus Plaza at the National Western Center—and June's Market at the Center is no exception. Sprouting Sustainability, hosted in partnership with the National Western Center and CSU Spur's Second Saturdays, is a free outdoor marketplace dedicated to local makers, mindful living, and the kind of community connection that makes Denver thrive.
What to Expect
Stroll the plaza and browse handmade goods from eco-conscious local artisans, sample specialty eats from a rotating lineup of food trucks, and take part in live demos and family-friendly activities exploring what it means to build a more sustainable future—for your home, your neighborhood, and the planet. You'll find wellness and lifestyle brands you won't discover in a big-box store, community organizations doing meaningful work in the city, and neighbors who care just as much about where their goods come from as you do.
Beyond the market booths, CSU Spur's campus comes alive with hands-on educational programming for all ages. Expect guided green roof tours, native plant exploration, science activities for curious kids, and interactive demonstrations from the researchers, educators, and changemakers based right here on campus. CSU Spur is Colorado State University's urban campus dedicated to food, water, and health—and there's no better day to explore what that mission looks like up close.
About Market at the Center
Market at the Center is a monthly outdoor marketplace hosted on the second Saturday of each month at the National Western Center's Main Campus Plaza, running from May through September. Each month features a different theme, a fresh lineup of vendors, food trucks, live entertainment, and a full day of free family activities—all in one of Denver's most exciting and rapidly evolving neighborhoods.
The series is a collaboration between the National Western Center and CSU Spur's Second Saturdays program, bringing together the energy of a community market with the curiosity-driven spirit of one of Colorado's premier educational campuses.
Free and Family-Friendly
Admission is free. Activities are free. All you need to bring is an appetite, a reusable bag, and maybe a little extra room in your weekend plans. Whether you're a longtime sustainability advocate or just getting curious about greener living, you'll leave with new ideas, new flavors, and a deeper connection to your community.
